Angelina Jolie in the Film Gucci?
Could Angelina Jolie be about to star in Ridley Scott’s forthcoming film, Gucci? According to Variety, yes.
Variety reports that Angelina has signed on to play the femme fatale role in the film by the same name. The film would focus on the incredibly fascinating and dramatic life of the Gucci family. Angelina Jolie would play Patrizia Reggiano, the scheming ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, who was sentenced to 29 years in prison for plotting his murder!
It also documents the many fights that nearly destroyed the Gucci family, including Maurizio’s rise to the top and his plans to reinvigorate the brand with the appointment of Tom Ford, before he was gunned down in 1995.
This wonderfully rich project has been in the works (or at least on the table) since 2007. Sources say they are about to hire a writer to work on the script which examines the glitzy days of the 1970s and ’80s.
Leonardo DiCaprio has also been approached by Ridley, but is yet to sign on. Production is expected to begin in 2010.
Angelina Jolie? Leonardo DiCaprio? Gucci? This could be the most beautiful and lush emmy-racking film in three forevers.
