Angelina Jolie Visits Refugees in Kenya

Angelina Jolie in Kenya

On Sept. 12 Angelina Jolie was in East Africa to bring attention to the plight of Somali refugees and seek aid on their behalf.

Angelina has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Agency since 2001.

“I’ve become a better human being,” Jolie said. “I’ve learned the strength of the human spirit. I see different aid workers in camps helping each other from everywhere – people who have come together from all over the world to help. It’s changed my view of what is important. I’m not so concerned with things I used to be so concerned with. I feel that (now) I’m of some use to other people in the world.”

The world would be a much better place if more celebrities shared the kind of compassion and love that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have for others.
