Angelina Jolie Says Her Vegan Diet Nearly Killed Her

Gorgeous Angelina Jolie has blamed her vegan diet for “nearly killing” her. She has also said that she loves to eat red meat.

The Salt star says that when she restricted her diet to not include any animal products, it had negative effects on her health.

“I joke that a big juicy steak is my beauty secret. But seriously, I love red meat. I was a vegan for a long time, and it nearly killed me. I found I was not getting enough nutrition,” said Jolie.

The 35-year-old beauty also said she enjoys seeing her hands “grow older” as it is a sign of how much she has matured as a mother to her six children with partner Brad Pitt.

“Happiness is when I look down at my hands and they are washing a baby. I can sort of see my hands grow older and I love it,” she said.

Angelina Jolie to Make Her Directorial Debut

Angelina Jolie will make her debut as a film director in a GK Films production of a film set during the Bosnian war, but she will not be onscreen apparently.

Angelina Jolie was in Bosnia recently with Vivienne and Knox. She met with political leaders about the plight of war refugees from the Bosnian War which occurred between 1992 and 1995. She was also seen scouting locations in Budapest over the weekend so that her family can be together while she is working.

Angelina Jolie has said of the film, “I would like to involve as many local people as possible and learn as much as I can. Casting will be exclusively various ethnicities of the former Yugoslavia.” I guess this makes it pretty clear that Brad Pitt or any of their Hollywood friends won’t be involved in the movie.

So far no start date for the movie has been disclosed.

Angelina Jolie says it’s vital that people help Pakistan’s flood victims.

These floods have displaced 20 million people (!!!), but donations are well below donations for catastrophes like the Haitian earthquake or the Asian tsunami.

Angelina Jolie said she understood that “it is getting hard for people — they see Haiti, they see these other events … and they get exhausted by the time another big one rolls around.”

But she said Pakistanis face “mass death, mass displacement, and this situation is going to get worse.”

Jolie has visited Haiti, Iraq and other countries as a U.N. goodwill ambassador and says she might visit Pakistan once “the cameras go away.”

Angelina Jolie Talks About Her Babies, Brad, and Fake Blood

At Monday’s London premiere of Salt, Angelina Jolie admitted to UsMagazine.com that her and Brad Pitt’s kids love to play with fake blood on movie sets. I think most kids would get an icky kick out that.

Angelina said that her litle ones (Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5 and Shiloh, 4) would often come with her on the set of Salt. “I would bring them in early in the mornings…and I’d let them [use] blood,” she said.

“So we play together, they try on my wigs, they play with the blood. They know it’s all silly! They test the harnesses and we have them flying around. They know what it is.”

The gorgeous mother pointed to proof that she shed a little of the “real stuff” while filming the action thriller. “I have a little scar right here,” she admitted, pointing to the front of her scalp, describing how she “went smack into a table” during an gun-shooting sequence. “It was a little embarrassing.”

When asked if all of the kids were along for the trip, Angelina said it was just “the babies (Vivienne and Knox, 2). I’m having some special baby time.”

The star also lent some insight into how she and Brad Pitt co-parent. “We’re very much a united front,” she told Us. “They can’t get Mommy to do something Daddy wouldn’t. We’re very much the same. But we take turns working and we bring the kids to each other’s sets, so we try to stay together.”

The beautiful family that the whole world loves to watch and talk about have been in Oakland California recently where dad Brad Pitt is filming Moneyball.

Recently, Pax showed what he thought of the constant prying eyes and paparazzi. It makes you wonder how much he has been affected by the nasty new book that’s out and the questions surrounding it. Even if he’s shielded from a great deal of it, you know he has to hear some of the outrageous questions about the ignorant book and the even more ignorant attention being given to his sister Shiloh and the way she dresses. Seriously, wouldn’t you think people would have more things to talk about than a 4 year old’s clothes?!

Joining Angelina, Brad, and Pax in Oakland are Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh. The younger siblings, two-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox stayed home. Traveling with 2 year olds isn’t the easiest thing to do and the 2 year olds don’t enjoy it nearly as much as older children do.

Angelina recently took her adorable kids on a shopping trip. An eyewitness told UsMagazine.com: “Pax found a Magnificent Manicure Kit that he brought over to show Zahara. It looked like they both wanted it and they showed it to Angelina.”

The two pleaded with their famous mother until she agreed to buy them the kit – which lets children make a lotion and give their hands a mud bath.

The family are staying in the area while Brad Pitt shoots his new film Moneyball nearby.

Brad Pitt is playing Billy Beane, legendary manager to baseball team the Oakland A’s, who led them to victory in the 2002 Major League Baseball American League West Division.

Shiloh is seen sporting an Oakland A’s baseball cap in the pictures – she looks so cute!

Seriously, can’t people ever “get” that you don’t mess with a protective mother’s children?! Angelina Jolie recently defended her four-year-old daughter Shiloh’s decision to dress like a tomboy. She tells Stylist Magazine: “It’s not my choice. I have a very strong-willed four-year-old girl who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is.”

“People look at kids and think they should wear certain types of clothes. I think children should wear what they want and express themselves. Shiloh cried and said: ‘Please cut my hair off, I don’t want to have long hair.’”

Angelina Jolie adopted her son Maddox during a U.N. trip to Cambodia in Nov. 2001. “There were about 14 kids in the orphanage, and he was the last child I saw,” she told Reader’s Digest. “They put him in my arms, and he was still asleep. Then they put him in a bath, and he stayed asleep. Then I sat with him and he opened his eyes and just stared at me for the longest time. Then he smiled.”

In 2003, Angelina told People magazine, “I feel I’m finally living the life I should be living, and I haven’t had that feeling before.” About her then 2 year old son Maddox, she told People, “He can do his hair in a Mohawk if I put gel in his hand.”

Angelina Jolie has revealed she was offered the part of a Bond girl but turned it down.

Angelina, brilliant as a spy in the new action flick, Salt, opposite Liev Schreiber, admitted she didn’t want to be a Bond girl.

She said to Britain’s Live magazine: ‘They wanted me to play a Bond girl in Casino Royale. I said: ‘Actually, I’d prefer to play him. I’d rather be Bond‘.

‘It was a joke – kind of. It was an interesting conversation.’

Jolie’s new Salt role has been described as a Bond-like character but she disagrees with the comparison.

She said: ‘Salt is nothing like Bond. In so many spy films women are femme fatales and we wanted to avoid that. My character doesn’t use her sexuality to get anything.

‘It’s the roughest I’ve looked. When we fight, it gets ugly. Somebody breaks my nose in the film. It’s not pretty.’

Angelina Jolie has a new Tattoo on her thigh.

Angelina has new ink on her perfect thighs (is there anything about this woman that isn’t perfect???) – everyone online, and off, is trying to figure out what it says. Looks like Wiley Bare to me but I’m almost certain that isn’t it!

You can see the scan above to check it out for yourself. I’m working on finding a clear, large version – but no luck thus far.

When she was asked by a reporter what the tattoo meant, Angelina Jolie said, “It’s for Brad.” She didn’t elaborate, so we’re all left kind of hanging on. This type of mystery surrounding Angelina Jolie is what separates her from all the other fame starved female celebrities. They put it all out there, but Angelina hold some back. What’s more, the public actually CARES about what Angelina has going on behind her mysterious smile.

As for the mysterious tattoo, guesses that are showing up on the web include, “Wifey & Bear, Whiskey & Beer, and Wiley & Bare….. aha! Someone else thinks it looks like Wiley & Bare. At least I’m not alone in my wild guess.
